This case about Whitley is ridiculous! My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to him. I pray that he receives the monetary restitution he deserves! There is no way to give him back all of the happiness, laughter, freedom or life that he missed out on but he should NOT have to "pay" the rest of life for the wrongful conviction he was handed.

To put an innocent man away for nearly two decades SHOULD have consequences for ALL parties involved! Those who wrongfully convicted him, wrongfully testified against him, and those who did NOT abide by the law when they wrongfully led the jury to sentence an innocent man SHOULD have to pay. Witnesses, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges NEED to be held responsible for robbing the innocent of their freedom! It is not them who have their lives sabotaged and how are they not held accountable for the lives they waste of the wrongfully accused?!?!? Who calls our system just and fair???? Not I!!!!

It is NOT constitutional and NOT right! If any of the men or women who were a part of wrongfully convicting Whitley had to ACTUALLY do time in prison for ANY of their wrongful actions that led to Whitley's conviction then they perhaps would have sincerely thought two or even three times before they had done so! Pennsylvania needs to wake up and revise their laws! Whitley's attorney (Fisher) should NEVER have been denied the right to seek justice for his client. Whitley had to pay dearly and those in court need to be held at a higher level of accountability. Innocent lives are held in their hands. How do they sleep at night? It sickens me to think about. They sicken me. I pray our judicial systems begins to convict the real lawbreakers and that the innocent are set free every time!

Even if you are guilty of wrongdoing, and you know it, you can still benefit from legal help. Often the charges are inflated over the facts involved in the case. People are strongly fearful of this particular crime, and as a result the court system tends to make more out of what you have done than what is warranted. Your lawyer will help bring the charges down to a more reasonable level, so you can benefit from his services to protect your liberty after your alleged crime.

The prosecutors did not notify the defense that Rickey Wyatt did not match the description of the attacker. I think the prosecutors involved in this cover-up should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Shame on you, prosecutors. Thank God for Barry Scheck and the Innocence Project. Wyatt deserves so much more than any amount of money could ever compensate him for...he lost 31 years of his life. How can anyone move forward after this tragedy?

This story is extremely similiar to my friend's story. He wrote to the Innocence Project in Philadelphia but they advised him since he was convicted in Allegheny County to write to Point Park. You will receive his letter shortly. My friend was convicted in 1998 of a murder he did not commit. The "eye witness" says he seen my friend do it but my friend didn't. He changed his story 3 seperate times on the stand, failed a lie detector test and the coroner's findings were not what the "eye witness" said had happened. There are no fingerprints, no weapon, no hair..no nothing. My friend has been down for 13.5yrs with absolutely no evidence pinning him to this crime. We desperately need your help. My friend is paying for a crime committed by someone else, a faulty witness who couldn't keep his story straight!

Its about time..

To many times prosecutors, now turned judges continue to convict innocent people to bolster there positions. They should be held responsible and criminally charged.

I live Fayette county, Pa where this trial took place. I am appalled and outraged by this act of injustice!!! How do you get a life sentence conviction with no evidence except for a the testimony of an unreliable criminal who was paid to testify???? Why is this guy still sitting in jail??? I have heard stories of the corruption of the criminal justice system here but I can not understand why these prosecuters are not themselves being prosecuted. The 2 names mentioned in this article(Soloman & Warman) are both now judges-very scary!!!!
