Justice magazine is the official publication of the Innocence Institute of Point Park University — one of only three journalism-based Innocence Projects in the country that investigates wrongful conviction claims from inmates in Pennsylvania’s state prison system. Since its inception, the Innocence Institute has been involved in 17 cases that have been reopened or reversed.
- Vol. 1 focuses on “junk science” as it relates to prosecutorial misconduct. Read stories of seven individuals who were convicted, despite junk science issues that questioned whether justice was truly served.
- Vol. 2 focuses on juvenile life without parole. Pennsylvania incarcerates more juveniles to life in prison than any other state in the U.S. by far. The stories in this issue are about young men and women who fall into this complicated judicial category.
